Burn Programs Studied By IAFF Committee The International Association of Fire Fighters has established a committee on burn programs to encourage expansion of governmental research on burns, the treatment of burn injuries and rehabilitation of burn victims. The committee will also serve as a clearinghouse of information for IAFF local unions on activities in the field of burn treatment and prevention, William Howard McClennan, IAFF president, said. Commenting on his appointment of the committee, McClennan noted that the IAFF has long sought to focus attention on the problems of burn prevention and treatment. Many IAFF views on the subject are contained in the “America Burning” report of the National Commission on Fire Prevention and Control. “A good start has been made,” McClennan said. “Many organizations are now operating in the burn research and prevention field in the United States.
