Academy to Start Training Programs features The National Fire Academy is preparing to offer its first series of training programs in January. This is something that the members of the fire service have been patiently waiting for, and after talking about the courses with academy staff members who have been involved in developing these courses, you get the feeling that the wait will prove to be well worth while. The two courses that will he the first to be offered are fire instructor development and fire/arson investigation. These two courses not only should be highly attractive to the fire service, but they also should fulfill two priority needs. Other courses that will be offered in the coming year are fire safety for practicing architects, labor/management relations for the fire service, overview of master planning presentation, preparation for master planning, and national fire incident reporting system.
