Obtituaries Clarence T. McGraw Clarence T. McGraw, founder and president of the Circul-Air Corporation, died suddenly on April 13 in South Macomb Hospital in Warren, Mich. He was 84 years of age. McGraw became interested in fire apparatus while working as a young man in his father’s hardware business in Jackson, Mich. After attending the University of Michigan, he invented a mechanical hose washer in the later 1930s and later a warm air hose dryer. An honorary life member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, McGraw founded two organizations within the association—the Great Lakes Box 15 Club and the Fire Equipment Manufacturers and Services Association (FEMSA). He also was a member of the Southeastern Michigan Fire Chiefs Association.
