Regulators Recalled On 1964-1968 Units of Scott Air-Pak II Scott Air-Pak II breathing apparatus manufactured from 1964 through 1968 are the subject of a recall notice from Scott Aviation. The company has determined that an abnormal condition may exist in some cast aluminum bodies used in Air-Pak II regulators. Scott reports that a small number of fractures in the alarm mounting area of the regulator bodies have been found. They are believed to be caused by “stress corrosion due to external corrosive elements of moisture .in the air supply or by overtorquing the high pressure air inlet,” according to Scott. No injuries have been reported as a result of this condition in these regula_____ors, which have been in service for many years, Scott said.
