NAMES IN THE NEWS The National Hurricane Conference has selected the CITY OF CORAL GABLES, Florida, for its 1993 Emergency Management Award, which is given to “a city, county, regional, or state agency for outstanding progress and accomplishment in the fields of hurricane preparedness, planning, and research.” Coral Gables’ is the first municipal government to receive the award.
