The PLANT CITY (FL) FIRE DEPARTMENT received the 1999 Industry Safety Achieve-ment Award for its contribution to the safe transport of hazardous materials. The award was presented by industrial associations representing the chemical, natural gas, explosives, tank truck carriers, and welding supply industries. The department created a close working relationship with industry to achieve an ongoing emergency response and safety training program.
