On Friday, November 16, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation will sponsor a daylong training program on how to handle a line-of-duty death. The Chesapeake Fire Department, Virginia State Fire Chief’s Association, Health & Safety Committee, and the Hampton Roads Fire Safety Officials Committee will host the function. The program will take place at the Chesapeake Conference Center, 900 Greenbrier Circle, Chesapeake, Virginia, from 0900 to 1600 hours. Preregistration is required.
Targeted for fire chiefs, deputy chiefs, senior chief’s who develop standard operating procedures, chaplains, Honor Guard coordinators, and military commanders with Civilian Firefighters, this course covers preincident planning, survivor notification, family and coworker support, and survivor benefits and resources.
