Firefighting Photo of the Week–7/5/02

This photo is of a non sprinkled 200250 sq. ft. used clothing store fire.

The photos shows firefighter James Clark (far left) and his narrow escape from a flashover. James and firefighter Rob Leigh were inside this structure about
70 feet when the Deputy Chief noticed a rapid change in conditions and called for everyone out of the building.

Both fire fighters Leigh and Clark were treated for heat exposure and were back to work the next day.

It took only eight minutes for the fire to reach this condition from the time the first pump arrived on scene.
