Coming on the heels of the recent presidential campaign and its related negative media ads, along with some of your experiences at the local level, you probably want nothing to do with politics. Unfortunately, politics is part of the job and part of life. There is an element of it in everything we do. As a result, it is important for members of the fire service (especially those in higher ranks) to understand how politics affect what is done every single day.
