Delayed Ambulance Reponse to Denver (CO) Fire Victims

Denver (CO) Health Medical Center is considering changing its policies after it took 17 minutes for an ambulance to arrive at a house fire with three severely injured patients on Tuesday.

Firefighters responding to the incident quickly rescued a mother and two children trapped in the home. Firefighters cared for the victims on the lawn outside the fire building until an ambulance could arrive.

Two of the victims were still in the intensive care unit Thursday with “internal burns.” Another was listed in serious condition with “both internal and external burns.”
