Staircase Collapse Injures St. Louis Firefighter, Paramedics

An exterior staircase on the rear of a St. Louis (MO) building collapsed Tuesday afternoon, injuring a firefighter and two paramedics.

Fire department personnel were responded to a medical call at an office building and found a man dead on a second-floor porch, according to a news report on stltoday.com (http://bit.ly/I0gI6C).

As a firefighter and the paramedics tried to remove the corpse from the porch, an exterior stairway gave way, injuring the emergency workers. They were treated and released from an area hospital.
