Five-Alarm NY Fire Leaves Four Homeless

A five-alarm fire in Port Jervis (NY) severely damaged two homes and left at least four people homeless. Fire companies from three states responded to the fire, reports the Pocono Record.

The heat from the fire only intensified the hot sun that beat down on firefighters from above. Several firefighters were treated at the scene, for heat exhaustion, as temperatures hovered in the mid 90s. FAST teams and rehab units were brought in, and bottled water was being handed out to firefighters.
