Fire in CA National Forests Fully Contained

Firefighters fully contained the 318-acre Dillon Fire in the Klamath and Six Rivers national forests. No additional fire growth is expected, though minimal residual smoke from mop-up operations will be visible from State Route 96.

The Dillon Creek Campground was reopened Monday, and State Route 96 has been reopened to two-way traffic.

The Dillon Fire was started as a series of approximately 20 fires on Friday. The cause remains under investigation. Most of the fires were quickly contained, but two grew into larger fires; one burned more than 180 acres in the Six Rivers National Forest. The other burned more than 130 acres in the Klamath National Forest.
