San Jose Firefighter Suffers Heart Attack at Three Alarm Fire

A 15-year veteran firefighter suffered a heart attack and collapsed at the scene of a three-alarm fire at a church in San Jose (CA), reports the Silicon Valley Mercury News.

Fire Chief William McDonald told reporters the injured firefighter is Frank Ryan, who collapsed at the fire scene and was in critical but stable condition at Regional Medical Center of San Jose, where other firefighters gathered in support. It was later confirmed that Ryan suffered cardiac arrest, and that it happened during the fire, but did not have further details.
