Chicago Firefighter Injured in Extra-Alarm Fire

One Chicago (IL) firefighter was injured at an extra-alarm fire in an abandoned factory that was being brought under control Monday evening, reports the Chicago Tribune.

The firefighter was being taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The factory building is of concrete construction, so it is not expected to be as difficult to put out as the recent extra-alarm fire in Bridgeport.

The fire appeared to be largely confined to the building’s contents.
