Firefighters Injured in Deadly D.C. Apartment Fire

Two firefighters were injured in an apartment fire that killed at least two people today in Washington, D.C.

The local CBS affiliate ( reported that the building was evacuated at around 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Lon Walls, the fire department’s communications director, told the Washington Post ( that the building was vacant and that firefighters found the bodies during a search after the fire had been brought under control. One firefighter reportedly had a broken ankle while the other suffered a minor injury.
