Near Miss for WA Firefighters at School Fire

Firefighters narrowly escaped a deadly explosion while putting out a three-alarm fire at an elementary school Sunday in Vancouver, Washington.

The school was completely destroyed in the fire, according to a report on NWCN.com (http://bit.ly/Xo01Jq). Firefighters from Vancouver and Portland battled the fire, which burned well into late Sunday morning. One firefighter was treated and released for minor injuries.

Video from the scene shows firefighters applying water to the flames when an explosion occurs. Fortunately, the firefighters closest to the blast were able to avoid it.
