Detroit Firefighters Face Water Problems at Dwelling Fire

Photo and story by Andrew Lundell

Detroit’s 8th battalion companies battled a large dwelling fire as well as water problems at a box alarm on Margaret Street Tuesday night.

The first company on scene reported that they would be stretching on a two-story dwelling going throughout.

On arrival of the battalion chief, it was decided that firefighters on scene would be taking a defensive posture on the fire. Multiple families were left with nowhere to go after the fire extended into the apartment building next door.
