Oakland (CA) fire crews stayed busy Saturday, battling two structure fires that broke out within minutes of each other and a little more than a mile apart, reports the Mercury News.
The first fire was reported shortly before 6 p.m. Fire personnel Tweeted that the fire originated in a back bedroom of the residence, and within minutes, the fire was contained.
No injuries were reported. It is unclear what may have started the fire.
Roughly 30 minutes later, crews were back out again, responding to a call of a structure fire.
Personnel reported on Twitter that the fire, which had started in a back bedroom as well, had extended into the attic of the home and that an additional engine was brought in before the the fire was contained around 6:50 p.m.
There were no injuries, but one resident was transported to a hospital as a medical precaution for reasons unrelated to the fire. Crews are also working to determine what started that fire.
