Aussie Firefighters Injured in Group Home Fire

Two firefighters were badly burned after a fire at a home for people with intellectual disabilities in Australia.

One firefighter was in critical condition and another was being treated for serious burns after the incident, according to the Herald Sun (

The firefighters entered the burning home after being told by a resident that a disabled man was trapped inside, although this was not the case. Only one resident was home at the time of the fire; he managed to leave the house and was treated for smoke inhalation.

The injured firefighters belong to the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service.
