CO Lawmakers Consider State Firefighting Fleet

The state of Colorado is consider establishing its own wildland firefighting fleet.

After last year’s devastating wildfire season, state lawmakers are hearing a proposal for a a new division that would have the power to buy or lease firefighting aircraft, according to a report from the Associated Press (http://bit.ly/ZPrjt0).

The deadly Waldo Canyon Fire caused extreme damage last year, destroying more than 340 homes around Colorado Springs.
