Chicago (IL) Firefighters Rescue Six People from Arson Fire

Chicago (IL) firefighters rescued six people, including one child, from an arson fire in a South Shore apartment that allegedly began when an enraged girlfriend set her boyfriend’s couch on fire.

Firefighters responded to the call around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, and extinguished the fire after about an hour. All six people were taken to nearby hospitals and none of their injuries were serious. The girlfriend, 27, reportedly started the fire in the top-floor apartment after arguing with her boyfriend.

The Chicago (IL) Police Bomb and Arson Squad are investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made.
