A Maryland company that organized adventure-run events with a fire-service slant abruptly shut down last week, leaving thousands of runners stranded.
A report from ABC 2 News (http://bit.ly/11JN9Un) examined the situation of Hero Rush, which sent out an e-mail Friday night to registered runners indicating that its remaining scheduled events had been canceled and the company was no longer in business. Dave Iannone, Hero Rush CEO, indicated that the company had suffered from a significant downturn in registrations recently and was competing for participants in a crowded marketplace.
