Four Firefighters Hurt in Bronx (NY) Market Fire

Four firefighters suffered minor injuries in a fire at the Hunts Point Market in the Bronx, which is the world’s largest wholesale produce market that provides food to the city’s restaurants, bodegas and wholesalers, reports NBC New York.

Nearly 200 firefighters responded to the four-alarm fire Wednesday, which Hunts Point said was a small fire confined to an area controlled by one vendor.

The vendor’s operations were expected to continue normally, Hunts Point said. The rest of the market was not affected by the fire.
