One Injured in Philadelphia Crane Fire

A crane caught fire at the Philadelphia shipyard this morning leaving one person hurt, reports NBC Philadelphia (http://bit.ly/1aW8ZLa).

The large blue crane caught fire around 7:30 a.m. along Kitty Hawk Avenue at the Aker Philadelphia Shipyard in South Philadelphia.

Capt. Clifford Gilliam said units reported smoke inside the crane and one worker was transported from the scene.

The Philadelphia Fire Department didn’t reveal the extent of that worker’s injuries.

The fire was brought under control around 8:30 a.m.
