INDUSTRY (PA) – With a huge snowstorm approaching this weekend, a fire that broke out between 1 and 1:30 a.m. Friday that destroyed a borough garage and the road salt and plow trucks inside.

The building on Engle Road was used to store several vehicles and other equipment and supplies, including the two plow trucks, a backhoe and an undetermined amount of salt.

According to the Industry road crew, an adjacent shed that was built yesterday was also damaged in the fire.

An appreciative Councilman Andy Zachodni said Friday morning that the borough had already been flooded with offers to help.

The offers, he said, came from neighboring towns, such as Ohioville, Potter Township and Beaver, as well as some in Westmoreland County who were joining to send Industry 20 tons of salt to combat the expected snow storm coming Sunday.
