Firefighters, hazmat crews, and police responded earlier this week to the home of a Pennsylvania man suspected of trying to poison a rival with ricin. Residents in the area were told to shelter in place while officials move in on the suspect.
The 19-year-old suspect was arrested Wednesday at his home in Hatboro and faces a number of charges including attempted murder. He allegedly sent a card laced with ricin to the house of a romantic rival. The suspect reportedly bragged about making the deadly substance to a co-worker, who then told police.
On Thursday, the day after the rest, an additional stash of the deadly poison was found underneath a gas manhole in town. Authorities believed it to be the last of the ricin, according to news reports.
