SUV Driver Killed in Head-On Collision with New Hampshire Fire Apparatus

A 62-year-old woman was killed when her SUV collided with a fire apparatus Sunday in Deering, New Hampshire.

Firefighters were returning from a brush fire just before 6 p.m. when the head-on crash occurred, according to WMUR-TV (http://bit.ly/1iKoIP4).

A state police spokesman told reporters that the SUV which was heading north, was in the southbound lane. The fire truck attempted to avoid it by going into the opposite lane, and the collision occurred in the center of the road.

Driving Fire Apparatus: It’s Not the Family Sedan

The two firefighters involved in the crash were taken to an area hospital for minor injuries.

Early this morning, a fire truck in Ohio was involved in a head-on collision with a pickup truck. Two people were injured, including one firefighter.
