A firefighter in the Raleigh (NC) area has turned his privately owned fire apparatus into a family-owned business.

According to a report on WFNCNews.com (http://bit.ly/1ouEAt3), Dwight Jeckel, a Lieutenant at the Wake New Hope Fire Department, purchased a 1985 American LaFrance pumper, but, not wanting the rig to sit at home as a showpiece, developed it into an entertainment company.

Farewell to American La France

The First-In Fire Company allows Jeckel to share his love for fire trucks and fire safety. In addition to these programs, the company delivers a real fire apparatus and personnel to your bachelor/bachelorette or birthday party (kids or adults), wedding, company-sponsored picnic, or other event.

The company is expanding and seeking additional drivers and event planners in the area.
