After a destructive house fire in Superior on Sunday claimed the lives of two dogs and one cat, investigators have determined kids playing with a lighter ignited the flames, reports 9news.com.
Investigators from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and Rocky Mountain Fire interviewed residents and witnesses to determine the exact cause.
The Sheriff’s Office is working with the District Attorney’s Office to determine if criminal charges are appropriate.
One family wasn’t home at the time and the other was alerted to the fire by neighbors.
