Firefighters Battle 5-Alarm Fire at Abandoned Boston Warehouse

A five-alarm fire burned an abandoned warehouse Wednesday night in the West Roxbury section of Boston, Massachusetts.

According to WCVB (, no interior firefighting operations were conducted on the fire at the former pharmaceutical warehouse. Boston Fire Commissioner Joe Quinn said a defensive posture was taken due to potential hazards inside the building.

A collapse zone was established around the structure as a precaution, and no injuries were reported.

Investigators are looking into the fire. A developer recently purchased the property and planned to convert it into housing units, according to the report, and teens may have been hanging around the building prior to the fire.
