A fire at a Monmouth Avenue home Tuesday morning spread to an adjacent home, reports nj.com.
Public Safety Director Richard Rosell said the fire began at 10:24 a.m. at the end of Monmouth Avenue, and spread to the adjacent home’s siding. Two of four renters were home at the time of the fire, but no one was injured, he said.
Parking enforcement officer Joan Smith said she reported the fire after seeing it while patrolling in the area.
Smith, who was still on the scene helping to manage traffic, said she knocked on one of the doors, and someone was able to leave the home — after which a “big ball of flames came out the side door.”
