Boston firefighters said one person has died in a five-alarm fire in Roxbury Friday night, reports The Boston Globe.
The identity of the person who died was not immediately released.
Another person was hospitalized with minor injuries, while at least 30 others were displaced in the fire.
Responders reported a fire showing from 104 Winthrop St. just before 9 p.m., with a second alarm sounded at 9:07 p.m. A third alarm was sounded at approximately 9:20 p.m., with a fourth and then fifth only minutes later.
Officials said the fire was contained but “by no means under control,” with firefighting efforts likely to last through the night.
