Woman Dies in Natural Gas Explosion in Aurora (CO)

One woman was killed when a natural gas leak caused an explosion and fire at a home in Aurora Tuesday morning. That home was destroyed and a house nearby also caught fire and was damaged, reports Fox 31 Denver.

About 40 firefighters battled the fire. Emergency dispatchers started receiving calls about 6 a.m. after neighbors heard an explosion and the house was fully engulfed in flames.

Fire investigators announced Tuesday afternoon that a natural gas explosion caused the fire to start. The coroner arrived at the scene just after 9 a.m. and Aurora Fire officials said about a half-hour later there was a fatality in the home.
