Police Investigating Person of Interest Following Detroit Explosion

Police are investigating a person of interest who they believe is involved in Friday night’s house explosions in Detroit, reports wwmt.com.

Fire and smoke could be seen down Oakdale Street after a vacant house exploded from a natural gas leak that night.

The fire spread, and damaged or destroyed five other homes.

“When the house blew up, it shook everything on this block; it was a big boom, it disturbed the whole block,” said resident Harold Long. “Sounded like an earthquake, it blew out windows in the house.”

Other witnesses say they saw a man with burning clothes, running from the vacant house shortly before it exploded.

Arson investigators are expected to question a man who showed up to a hospital with burns.
