Hundreds of firefighters responded to a fire today at a restaurant in the building that once housed Chicago’s Engine 104.
Chicago Fire Media reported that firefighters conducted an exterior attack on the fire. The aged structure’s roof collapsed over the course of the incident.
A report from the Chicago Tribune (http://trib.in/166PLkQ) quoted a fire official as saying that roofers performing repairs had an accident that led to the fire.
The structure was used in the making of the movie “Backdraft.” There were no reported injuries.
