Woodstock (CT) – Seventy-two-year-old Jan K. Alley died after a house fire in Woodstock, according to firefighters.
The fire broke out at the home at 3 Little Bungee Hill Road on Sunday evening and fire officials said a bystander helped rescue a woman from the home and she was taken to the hospital to be treated for possible smoke inhalation.
A family member identified her a Jan K. Alley’s 70-year-old wife, Caroline Alley.
Bungay Fire Brigade Chief Roy Chandler said the structure was 50 percent involved when crews arrived around 7 p.m.
Firefighters knew a man was missing when they arrived at the scene, but crews were not able to enter the building in part due to a downed power line.
