A recent news report indicates that, in December of last year, computer hackers attacked the Indianapolis 911 center that dispatches firefighters, police, and EMS.
The security breach was revealed during a speech on Tuesday, according to WTHR.com (http://bit.ly/1yOyN4n). The cyberattack began December 20 and lasted several days.
Officials say the attack slowed the system down, but since there is a redundant computer network, public safety was never compromised, according to the report.
