About 70 firefighters were fighting the 7-acre fire near the corner of Long Pond Road and Little Pond Road. The fire was reported about noon and was still burning into the evening, reports wmur.com (http://bit.ly/1OVnmCK)
Concord fire officials said they had to pull firefighters out of the area because helicopters were dropping water from above. They said that should help knock down the fire, and firefighters can then go in and focus on lingering hotspots.
Officials said there was no threat to homes and no plans for evacuations. The fire was in a wooded area, and crews said it was difficult to get water where they needed it.
Fire weather warnings were issued across New Hampshire on Monday as temperatures reached the mid-80s, and dry, gusty winds were expected through Tuesday evening.
