Fire Wrecks New Jersey Fire Chief’s Home

On Friday, a fire destroyed the home of Pompton Lakes (NJ) Fire Chief Ron Fusaro, but the chief found his community eager to help him in the wake of the incident, according to a report.

The Record (http://bit.ly/1Hd1gaL) reported that friends surrounded Fusaro and his wife on the lawn of their neighbor’s yard in the immediate aftermath of the fire, and the fire department auxiliary announced it was accepting gift cards and checks on the family’s behalf.

The origin of the fire was traced to an ATV parked outside the western wall of the single-story ranch style home, the report said.

Nearly 30 of Pompton Lakes’ 65 volunteer firefighters responded to the fire, including Fusaro, according to the report.
