More than 100 firefighters were struggling Friday afternoon to contain a brush fire that has charred 10 acres in Laguna Canyon and briefly forced the shutdown of State Route 73, reports The Los Angeles Times.
Firefighters were operating under a unified command between the Orange County Fire Authority and the Laguna Beach Fire Department, Bommarito said. The effort included two airplanes and two helicopters.
The fire prompted the temporary closure of State Route 73. But the highway has reopened in both directions.
