A longstanding issue between the city and first responders regarding overtime for firefighters and emergency services personnel has ended, reports wusa9.com (http://on.wusa9.com/1WbUpAU)
D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser signed an agreement with the Firefighters Union.
Under the agreement the city’s 3,000 union firefighters will receive overtime for time worked over 42 hours a week.
The agreement is retroactive back to September 2001 and will cost the District close to $45 Million.
