Three residents escaped a raging fire in their Hempstead (NY) home around 9:15am Monday morning, November 16.
Two of the residents needed to exit out first floor windows when the front door was blocked by flames.
An aggressive interior attack by Hempstead engine companies prevented the blaze from extending to the upper floor.
Four dogs were also in the home but only two were able to be located by firefighters and removed to safety.
Nassau County Fire Marshals were on the scene to investigate the cause.
