A fire in a detached garage early Wednesday morning caused “multiple rounds” of ammunition to explode, but no one was injured, according to Parsippany police, reports nj.com.
Firefighters responded to the report of a “structure fire” at 12:35 a.m., Parsippany police said in a news release.
Upon arrival, patrols found the garage “fully engulfed” in flames, police said.
The victim of the fire, who lives in the house next to the garage, told officials that the garage was “not occupied” and that ammunition was stored inside, police said.
While firefighters tried to extinguish the blaze, the heat and flames caused the bullets to explode, police said.
