New York Firefighter Dies After Responding to Station for Emergency Call


A Long Island (NY) firefighter has passed away after responding to the station for an emergency call, according to the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA).

On May 2, Firefighter Theodore A. Stafford, 73, of the Sag Harbor Fire Department died at home from a nature and cause of fatal injury still to be determined. He died shortly after responding to the fire station for an emergency call.

The USFA site indicated that there have been 22 firefighter fatalities reported thus far in 2016.
