Pennsylvania Firefighter Dies After Being Injured

A Pennsylvania firefighter has died after being injured, according to a report from the U.S. Fire Administration.

North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department Safety Officer Charles E. Horan was preparing to leave home for a response call to assist law enforcement gain access to the roof of a building. Horan tripped and fell, suffering a severe injury.

Safety Officer Horan was treated by fellow responders and transported to the hospital where, despite all efforts, he succumbed to his injuries several days later.

He was 61 years old.
