Child Dead, Several Others Injured in Charlotte (NC) House Fire

An eight-year-old boy has died after being injured along with several other people in a house fire in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to reports.

Six other individuals were critically injured in the fire Wednesday morning, according to The Charlotte Observer.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 1900 block of Academy Street about 1 a.m., the Charlotte Fire Department tweeted. More than 30 firefighters responded and the fire was brought under control in a half hour.
