Firefighters Trapped, Rescued at Penn Hills (PA) Commercial Fire

Fire photographer Eric Rasmussen shared some photos of firefighters working at a commercial fire in July 2019 in Penn Hills, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

Crews responded on July 28, 2019, to a gas-fed fire at this structure. The utility could not located the gas shut-off for several hours.

About two hours into incident, a rear store exploded without warning, trapping four firefighters. A Mayday was issued, and the firefighters successfully rescued and transported. All are expected to recover.
