A Houston firefighter has died after sustaining a medical emergency on the job, according to a report from the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA).
While on duty at Houston Fire Department’s Station 27, Firefighter Kenneth Stavinoha, 36, suffered a medical emergency and did not survive. The cause of death is pending an autopsy.
The incident occurred on September 21, 2019. Firefighter Stavinoha had one year of service.
There have been 37 firefighter fatalities reported thus far in 2019, according to the USFA.
