A Wisconsin firefighter died after sustaining a heart attack during a response to an emergency incident.
The U.S. Fire Administration reports that on October 19, 2019, Union Grove-Yorkville (WI) Firefighter Brian Serdynski, 38, suffered a heart attack while at the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
He was transported to a hospital where he was treated and then released on October 21. In the very early morning hours on November 2, Serdynski was having difficulty breathing. First responders from Union Grove-Yorkville and Kansasville fire departments responded to Serdynski’s home and immediately administered medical care. Despite their efforts, Serdynski was pronounced deceased at his home.
Firefighter Serdynski had five years of service.
